Habit 2: Sleep For At Least 6 Hours A Day

This Habit Project is still going strong, friends. I just wasn’t able to post an update last weekend.

Habit 2 wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. Except for one day last week that I had to stay longer in the office, I slept 6 hours every day.

What I found really difficult was going to bed early, which most probably what kept me from sleeping longer. I haven’t figured out how to address that. I thought working out every day would make it easier for me to face plant by the end of the day, but it didn’t.

I think SO MANY THOUGHTS when there’s nothing else to do but stare at the ceiling and sleep but not sleep. It’s frustrating.

It would make sense to make Sleeping Early Habit #3, but I want to google more on the topic first. Otherwise, I’ll be setting myself up for failure. Please feel free to share tips or link reference materials.

  1. I’m currently using the 30 Day Fitness Challenge app…still not good at push-ups (hehe) but so far it helps me follow a “routine” I guess

  2. Wow, I’ll check that out.

Also don’t hate me, hahaha. Ang kapalit ng 6 hours is I’ve been late all the time! I really should work on sleeping early.

  3. I don’t know if I’ll hate you for having at least 6 hours of sleep, Rae.
It’s currently impossible in my case. Pero I’ll mimic exercising daily. I downloaded an app called Workout Trainer. I only do the short drills (around 7-8 minutes per day) but bcos I am weak, these are enough to make me pant. And you also have an option to download some of the workouts for offline use. for free.

  4. I”ve been thinking of doing the same. My average this year has been just over 5 hours which is godawful. Like you, I find going to bed early the real challenge. It’s easier said than done to vacate your mind of errant thoughts and just wind down. So I take a few long and deep breaths and then let the nerd in me out – I play Words With Friends and it always puts me to sleep. Good luck!

  5. Congrats! I heard sleeping for 6+ hours a day is hard for those who have a “normal work schedule”. It’s easier for us, graveyard people, to sleep earlier and longer. I usually get a good 8-9 hours of sleep a day, pero bitin pa rin! :(

What do you think?
