When a beauty product is distributed locally, I try to get it from the brand’s physical store as much as possible, especially if I haven’t tried it yet. For products that aren’t locally available, thank the Universe for online stores and personal shopping services!

Adding to my growing list of favorite online stores is Althea Korea, which incidentally launched in the country today.

Three weeks ago, they offered shopping credits for beta testers to try out the site and I was lucky to be one of them.

Althea Korea has a standard user interface so I’ll just feature the things that make this online store extra-awesome–it offers the following:

Authenticity Guarantee – if the item you received is proven to be a counterfeit product, you can return it.

Best Price Guarantee – if you find one of their products to be cheaper anywhere else, they will match the price.

30-Day Unconditional Returnsthis is unheard of in the Philippines!

I made sure to “buy” products I haven’t tried before. Some of the items I got, I haven’t even heard of yet.

Althea Korea Loot

Most of them are skincare products–

  • B&Soap Mamie Blue Pack
  • Angel Factory Under-Arm Perfume Peeling Pads
  • Tony Moly Shiny Foot Peeling Liquid
  • Vitamin Capsules VITA 3000 AC Refining Cream
  • Missha Soft Blending Stick Blusher in Mud Brown
  • Angel Factory All-In-One Peeling Pad (for the Face)
  • Black Kill 3-Step Nose Pack

Let me know if there’s anything in particular that you’re interested in. I’ll move it up the review queue.

Althea Korea ships straight to your doorstep–meaning, customs duties are paid. There will be no additional charges. You can purchase even without a Paypal account. They accept credit and debit cards (Visa/ Mastercard) via the Paypal interface.

  1. so kung may chance na may fake products, various sellers are free to sell their goods here?

    • Rae Reply

No, Althea Korea is an online store, they are the seller. When you buy a product from them Althea that proves to be fake, you can return it.

  2. I’ve tried Shiny Foot and when I compared notes with Katsy (she used Baby Foot), I experienced more peeling than she did. I was so happy with my feet afterwards–no foot spa or foot file would ever be able to achieve the same gloriously smooth effect! To help with the peeling, allow your feet to soak for a few minutes daily in the days following application because the water will help soften and loosen the dead skin. :)

I agree, the results can’t be achieved any other way, but the peeling drove me crazy, I almost didn’t want to try it again until you shared your tip of soaking my feet in water. Maybe socks would help, too.

  3. i ended up not ordering muna. but the next time that i need to get a new moisturizer i might get laneige from them na… and its skin serums! i also wanna see how their returns work… we never had anything like that here. sana after a few more months pati ibang brands mag free returns na din para di naman sayang if a product didnt work for us.

Oh my gaad, yes!!! I have the Laneige Perfect Renew serum and I love it! Oh my goodness. The change in my skin literally happened overnight. Sad that it’s not available at Althea. But their White Plus Renew serum is there and only costs P1,600. I hope it’ll still be on sale when I finish Perfect Renew

  4. How exciting! I love Korean products – keen to see how you go reviewing these.
Does Althea Korea ship to Australia? I’m over Strawberry Net and AK terms seem very customer friendly.

    • Rae Reply

Not yet, I think. AK is a startup that recently got funding to expand in Southeast Asia, but I hope they ship to Australia soon.

  5. I would love to read your take on the mamie blue because I’m interested to buy it as well. I’ve seen this site before it launched but was a bit skeptic about it! Finally may nagreview na din sawakas!! (Or baka I only follow few favorite beauty blogs :P) Anyway, also interested on the missha blush stick! Do they give freebies per purchase? Free mask whatever? Gano katagal mo hinintay madeliver? And why can’t I comment here via my wordpress app?? Hmm

    • Rae Reply

Mamie Blue is fun to use! But I can’t use it often because I feel like it’s drying. To be honest, I didn’t see that much difference in the following days following use. Maybe it treats something I don’t have. Still fun, though.

They gave me one freebie, a sachet of Etude House BB Cream. I received the package 6 days after I placed the order.

Not so sure why you can’t comment via wordpress. I’m on the app right now. I’ll ask WordPress. Thanks for that.

  6. Please do a review on the Missha blush stick soon! I’m looking over the site again. My friend might be buying, so baka umangkas ako for one or two items.

    • I’ll try. So far, my first impression on it is that it’s more for bronzing rather than contouring because of the shade. Also, it doesn’t last as long.

What do you think?
