This has got to be my favorite Happy Skin release yet. Everything in this collection suits my light/medium yellow-olive skin tone.

I bought the sets from Zalora last Friday and received the products yesterday. I have nothing substantial to say about them yet, but I received several requests for swatches and now here we are.

Happy Skin Glisten Up Strobing Kit

I love the contour shade a lot. It’s the grey-toned yellow-brown shade I’ve been looking for. I still have to figure out how best to apply it. I’m used to bronzing with cream formulas, but I haven’t contoured with a cream product yet. I stand by my belief that bronzing and contouring are two different things.

Anyway, the highlight stick is a slightly peachy champagne color. It’s a little too glimmery for my liking but, I think I can make it work.

Happy Skin x Plains and Prints Shut Up and Kiss Me Moisturizing Matte Lippies

These are what I was more excited about (of course!). I felt like they had me in mind when they were conceptualizing these shades–like someone from Happy Skin’s product development team said, ‘Guys, I think it’s time to make shades that Rae would REALLY go crazy about.’

Happy Skin Hot Stuff and Scene Stealer

RED.

Definitely a Scene Stealer.

I don’t know what I-can’t-even means, but it feels right to say it — I CAN’T EVEN!

Happy Skin Scene Stealer

Happy Skin came out with another deep red in the past, Hot Stuff. I liked that shade, too. But I had sooo many other lipsticks in that shade. Compared to Hot Stuff, Scene Stealer is slightly brighter, berry-er, and more vivid. Initially, I thought it had the same shade as MAC D for Danger, but when I swatched them side-by-side, the latter is one to two shades lighter.

Happy Skin Moisturizing Matte Lippie in Girl Boss

FINALLY!!! A medium soft mauve/blue pink. I knew in my heart that Happy Skin would make this color. I know I have a thousand and one mauve lipsticks, but I have one more room for something cleaner, brighter, but not too cool-toned.

In terms of formula, finish, and longevity, these new matte lipsticks are consistent with the quality of the first release. Here’s my review: Preview x Happy Skin Moisturizing Matte Lippies.

It might take me a while to post an in-depth review of these. Let me know if there’s a particular item you’d want me to pay attention to first.

  1. May I ask, what is darker between Hot Stuff and Scene Stealer? Thanks. :)

Hi Reanne! Hot Stuff seems darker. Their undertones are also different with Hot Stuff being less plummy :)

Thank you for this really helpful review Rae! I’m a fan of Happy Skin myself, and I got GirlBoss prior to coming across your review. I wanted to help give gift suggestions, and the girl in question has the same skin tone as yours. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH! She’ll be getting this set too. <3 <3 <3

  4. RAE HAHA. I saw these posts and napabili ako huhu. I got the lippie duo (I love the formula! First of the mattes I’ve tried) and the contour stick. Anyway, I’m enjoying them, but the contour stick is a bit too dark on me!

  5. Wait how did I miss this, I’m definitely checking out the contour stick and the lipsticks, at LEAST the girl boss one. Hoping that plays well with my nc42 skin

I think it will! Pero maybe, nudish pink on you. Have you tried Maybelline Colorshow Lively Violet? They’re very similar.

  6. ooh, I had no idea you could choose which sticks to get (Liz’s set was the blush and highlighter), and I have been totally lemming to get that contour stick. contour powders are just not working for me, and I’m convinced that a cream formula will change my life.

okay, need to scrounge up some funds now. :(

Oh, Happy Skin didn’t sent me these :) Instead of the blush/ highlight duo, I bought the one with the contour stick. I’m still figuring out how to apply it well, but I think I’m getting the hang it

  7. you picked the two shades that i was thinking of getting :) i wanted hot stuff kaso madami na syang kamukang shades in my collection, and i was debatting on getting that mauve shade and the other more peachy mauve shade that they had. i was hoping nga na the pale nude would look good on me cause they claim to cater to asian skin tones pero waley talaga. its hard to find a nude shade that doesnt make me look too dry and undead.

  8. Oh wow, Scene Stealer is the most perfect berryish red! I feel like I have a color similar to this in my collection but let’s take a moment to appreciate this color on you xD

    • Rae Reply

Most probably you have one very close to this! I know you love your berry reds :D

  9. Oh wow, I love all of these. Especially that RED! I must have it! You sell it well :)
The contouring looks great too Rae.

Hey, if you want to try some of Happy Skin’s stuff, I can send you a few.

  10. That red is the bomb. like seriously the bomb!!

Every major brand has been focusing on contour kits lately…because I have a naturally defined face I usually skip that part…but this kit looks really nice :3

    Take care*

I agree. I wonder why some people with already prominent facial contours still opt to sculpt their faces. Sometimes it can make you look gaunt.

  11. You make me feel feelings about Scene Stealer. I kind of want to get it now, plus the contour stick. Haha. Dakilang inggitera ako. :))

    • Rae Reply

Get the contour stick! (and then, maybe, teach me how to use it better? Haha)

  12. HUHUHU I hate you. This swatch post makes me wanna buy them na. Actually I made the purchase na at Zalora then had to cancel my order coz I kind of clicked on a whim then got to my senses. So I’m still waiting for my refund. But now I think I made a mistake huhu. THAT CONTOUR IS SO NICE :( :( :( Scene Stealer is also pretty interesting! I wasn’t keen on getting it before but now I think I might just grab a tube.

I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful Scene Stealer is. I was expecting it would be a deep red but I didn’t expect that it would look this vivid. I can see this color looking great on your skin tone.

  13. I got the strobing kits too, but not the matte lippies! I am not drawn in getting more lippies. Ang dami ko na!!! Hehe. :-) Those lippies are gorgeous, though!!! <3

    • Rae Reply

Nakuha mo na? What do you think?

      PS. On lippies–I’m hopeless.

That Scene Stealer! You can’t even? I can’t even. It’s so intensely fierce and intensely beautiful all at once.

Never heard of this brand before, now I can’t wait to check it out x

    • Rae Reply

Heeey. Where are you based? This is a local beauty brand (Philippines). But I think their online store ships worldwide :)

      • Unpaletteable Reply

Heyyy. I’m in the UK, and yep, looks like they ship worldwide, I’m in luck :)

What do you think?
