Day 9 – 20-Day Lipstick Challenge
My search for a medium muted soft-peach lipstick began when I bought MAC Runway Hit and found it too pale for my skin tone. Let me digress real quick: Runway Hit is horrible. If not for MAKE Cosmetics lip primer and Sonia Kashuk’s Velvet Matte Pencil, it would take me the whole day to get Runway Hit to apply evenly.
Going back, I had already given up on the search for my perfect peach when I saw on instagram that Inglot released new matte shades. When Inglot releases new matte lipsticks, I always check them out. The brand comes out with colors that are hard to come by in the bone-dry lipstick market.
As luck would have it, one of Inglot’s releases was the exact color I was looking for. Looking at the photo above, I realize that 428 doesn’t seem all that unique. I have definitely come across that shade on several people on the internet, but the thing is, all of them are lighter than me. For peach to look on me like it does on them, I have to use a deeper shade.
I think the difficulty of finding this color made me appreciate the lipstick a lot. Now, if only I could make this feeling last so I would stop buying new lipsticks.
Formula and Finish
By the way, you are seriously missing out if you’re a matte lipstick lover and you haven’t checked out Inglot yet. Their mattes are so devoid of shine that they make me look like I’m wearing a matte liquid lipstick.
Warning: If you prefer your mattes to have a little bit of slip, Inglot is not for you.
