I had fun reading this beauty tag that Shari posted. I was reading mid-post when I thought I’d write mine, too. By the end of the post, I found out that Shari tagged me anyway. Thanks girl!
You have to get rid of all of your foundations and keep only one high-end and one drugstore, which would you keep?
This question is hard!
I’m struggling with this right now. I think I have around 10 face bases and I’m trying to trim the number down to 3 or 4. I’m sure I won’t end up with just one high-end and one drugstore by the end of my Toss or Keep Challenge.
Anyway, I can’t answer this question directly. But I’ll tell you this — my favorite high-end foundation is still Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer and my favorite mid-priced foundation is Ellana Minerals Pressed Powder Foundation.
You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?
I have poor eyesight and I’m wearing wrong prescription contacts right now, so, I might not notice it (unless she has super white teeth and wearing a color like MAC Ruby Woo).
If I do notice it, I won’t tell her and I would try my very best not to get distracted by her teeth throughout the whole interview. If she sees me looking at her teeth, I would have no choice but to tell her about it. If I don’t tell her, she would remember me looking at her teeth once she sees herself in the mirror. That might not be good for me.
You’re not feeling yourself and you need a pick-me-up lipstick, which do you go for?
I always thought I would wear a deep red lipstick like Lipstick Queen Entourage. But when it actually happened that I had to pick myself up, I wore MAC Heroine. I don’t know if it’s because of the name of the lipstick or the color that gave that feeling that I can get through what I was going through — probably both.
I don’t need a pick-me-up lipstick, really, but it helps and lipsticks are fun. So, why not?
You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair or makeup differently?
I was a no maintenance teenager and I won’t change a thing. I would still put my hair up in a pony tail as I still usually do now and I would still choose not to wear makeup (I wasn’t allowed to, anyway, because I was a COCC cadette in my sophomore year and a CAT officer in my Junior and Senior year).
You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut but they hear wrong and give you a pixie cut, what do you do?
A) Smile, say thank you, call your mum and cry hysterically
B) Cry in the chair and things get awkward
C) Complain to the manager and demand a refund
I had to google who Pixie Lott is. Is she famous in hairdresser circles?
This probably won’t happen to me because when I get a hair cut, I don’t preoccupy myself with a magazine or a cellphone. I watch the hairdresser like a hawk (after all, s/he IS holding a deadly weapon). If s/he cuts my hair too short, I would be able to stop her right away and I’d probably end up with a bob, at least.
I won’t do A. My mom would smack me in the head if I had to call her just to complain about a haircut gone wrong. I also won’t do B — I find it difficult to cry in public.
I might do C. I would politely talk to the manager and ask for a refund — a very mischievous thing for me to do because I’m ok getting a pixie cut. I wore an ‘almost pixie cut’ for most of college.
Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have one hour to pack, which ‘Do It All’ palette do you pack in your makeup bag?
Surprise! I don’t have a ‘Do It All’ palette.
I would probably bring a lipstick that I could also wear as a blush (like Bobbi Brown Tawny Pink), sunblock (I know, not makeup, but I won’t ever forget sunblock), and Ellana Minerals Pressed Powder Foundation.
Your house has been robbed, don’t worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What’s the product you really hope is safe?
If this happens, it’s personal and was done by someone I know. That person knew that I only keep favorites (now everyone knows!) and thought that one way to hurt me
without going overboard is to take all of my makeup.
I would be ok if s/he takes everything. But I would make sure I find out who that person is so I could cut the b* out of my life.
Your friend borrows makeup and returns it in an awful condition. Do you:
A) Pretend you haven’t noticed
B) Ask them to re-purchase it
C) Secretly do it back to their makeup
None of the above.
I have good friends. I am sure the borrower friend would tell me that something happened with my makeup even before I had to see the damage. S/he would probably offer to get me a new one, too.
Now for the fun part…
Off the top of my head, I’m tagging/giving a shout-out to:
- Elaine and Becs. In the hopes that they wake up from blogging slumber.
- Payal. Check out her experiment on Micellar Water vs Tap Water. It will change your life.
- Juvy. She has a big database of lip swatches which is helpful for me because she has medium skintone, too. I also like her eye makeup looks. I’ve copied a few but they all turned out to be a disaster.
- Tellie. Because she was also tagged by Shari and she hasn’t posted hers yet AND I really want to know what her answers are.
- Pat. Because I want to interrupt her ‘journaling’ posts with a beauty tag.
