I used to not bring a makeup bag with me to work because I used to wear only a tinted sunblock, a lip tint, and on bad skin days, a concealer.

But around 3 months ago, I started working for a company in the health and beauty industry.

During my orientation, HR said, “Wearing cosmetics is a must for all female employees.”

I didn’t take it seriously until I saw my colleagues and read that statement written verbatim on the employee handbook.

So, over the past months, I started building an every day makeup bag.  My goal was for it to contain products that will make me look like I did some effort on my face (without me spending a lot of time on it.)

Here are the products in my makeup bag:

Shiseido Sun Protection Stick Foundation

This foundation is a huge time-saver.  It’s a face base and sunblock in one.

Nars Larger Than Life in Rue Bonaparte

A flesh-toned eyeliner that does a great job in cancelling out the pink on my waterline, making my eyes look less tired.

Etude House Drawing Eyebrow

My favorite eyebrow product. It doesn’t make my eyebrows look drawn on.

Revlon Balm Stains (in Honey and in Crush)

I bring one muted and one strong lip color.  The latter is for days when I’m extra lazy or extra late.  Even when I put on only a strong-colored lipstick, I look like I spent time on my face.

Avon Simple Pretty Lip and Cheek Tint

A plum-y tint that I use as a blush.  It stays all day and looks like my face hit the sun.

Nail Polish

For emergency nail polish chipping, I bring the polish I am wearing for that day.

Maybelline Pure Pact Mineral Compact Foundation

I bring this for the mirror.  I seldom wear this foundation because it can look powder-y on the face.  This originally came with a puff.  In case you’re wondering, the brush in the compact is Mary Kay.

Mac Studio Finish Concealer

I use this for over-all concealing, when the sun stick is not enough to cover blemishes and undereye circles.

Ben Nye Banana Visage Powder

It’s that one in the white container.  It keeps me from looking oily throughout the day.

Silk Secrets Oil Control Sheets

If I’m extra oily and Ben Nye isn’t enough, I blot my face with this.

Most of the products I bought are long-wearing because I haven’t yet developed the habit of touching up and looking at my face on the mirror every so often.

These products comprise my whole look and I bring them all with me because I put on makeup on the way to work.  Aside from the products above, I also bring hair ties and a comb.  All of which, I put in an Avon bag I got from my mother-in-law some months ago.

Feel free to share the stuff in your makeup bag in the comments section below.  If you have a blog entry about it as well, feel free to put in the link.

  1. Thanks for sharing your makeup bag entry. I enjoyed reading it. :)

I secretly I could work in a company like yours. where ladies are actually required to wear makeup so that I could use up all my makeup :P If you like to see what's in mine, please check out this link:

  3. I know what you mean! I actually have a mini emergency kit at my desk for days I'm running late – eyeliner, mineral foundation and blush, and tinted lip balm. :D

  4. I wasn't able to jump into the Lip Butter bandwagon, I don't like sheer lip products.

Haha, I don't have time to do my grooming activities at home, else, I'll be late. :D

  5. I love Revlon balm stains, they last longer and are punchier than my previous love – Revlon Lip Butter. I use Romantic or Honey.

I try to finish my “work face” at home so all I take with me in my kikay kit are the powder, oil sheets, balm stain, and colorless lip balm :D

  6. ang hirap ng patakaran sa company niyo. i only do my make up in the morning (pag sinipag) and no retouch for the whole day. hahaha.

I want the Revlon Balm Stains! Too bad I can't find them here. :(

  8. I checked their counter at Mall of Asia but they don't seem to have darker shades there. :(

Have you already checked out the sun protection liquid foundation from Shiseido? I think you'll like that as it's quicker to blend than a cream foundie. It finishes matte, too, so you can skip topping it off with a setting powder on less humid days. :)

I use Revlon balm stains, too! I have Rendezvous. It's a very nice color on me but it seems to turn metallic after staying put for several hours. Do lip balms oxidize, too?

  10. Hi Rae, I'm curious with Ben Nye Banana Visage Powder? Is is good? :)

  11. The same goes for Wet 'n Wild Megalast lipsticks. They're very expensive here.

  12. I have the Avon cheek and lip tint and Revlon balm stain as well. And you're right, the Avon tint lasts all day. I'm fairly happy with the balm stain too, it outperforms my usual lip balms but it's really overpriced locally so I'll be making “pabili” in the US for my stash.

What do you think?
