These past weeks, with all the rain pouring in, I always go home from work with the skin on my feet all pruny.
On really bad days, I had to walk through 3 blocks of mid-calf-deep flood just to get home. I’m not complaining. On the contrary, I am thankful because flood water never entered our home, we had food and water, and we’re safe.
With a new storm coming, I decided to get a pair of rain boots. Initially, I wanted to get something from ReadyforRain.com but I couldn’t justify spending more than Php 2,000 just for rain boots.
A friend told me that Tomato sells printed rain boots for 4x cheaper. I was going to get a pair of the black and red plaid ones but the branch I went to doesn’t have it in my size.
I got these instead:
|Tomato Rain Boots
Php 500 a pair
It is by no means as pretty-looking as Plueys and probably not as comfortable but I’m ok with it being at least better-looking than those rubber tire-like black ones that look so gloomy.
I’m happy I now get home with dry feet. I like it.
UPDATE – June 18, 2013: These boots are not for long walks. It hurt my feet. But for emergency rain and ankle-deep flood, I make do with it.
